Today is Sunday, December 20, 2020, a year of phenomenal physical, cultural, and political difficulties. And it is the day before WINTER SOLSTICE. I hope to write here fairly often beginning today.
I watched a very good movie last night, Lucky Grandma. Tsai Chin, the actor playing the protagonist, is wholly compelling. I recommend it (with subtitles, unless you’re fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese). For my own writing, I found the plot structure marvelous and educational. Grandma slowly descends into a dark, confounding underworld as the consequence of her luck. A flawless progression. The movie also made me want to find more direct conflict somewhere in the script, Comedy, I’m working on.
